Nine people were arrested during yesterday’s Carabao Cup final according to the Metropolitan Police.

Several people were arrested for possession of Class A drugs, with the Met seeking football banning orders against the offenders.

Other offences ranged from drunk and disorderly behaviour, pitch incursion and missile throwing.

However, the force stated the large-scale gathering by Geordies at Trafalgar Square on Saturday was ‘good natured.’ No arrests were made but the police did intervene after the flares were set off.
