North Tyneside music festival Coast Fest shortlisted for national award

Coast Festival, based in North Shields, has been shortlisted in the Best Small Festival category at this year’s awards, the second time it has been shortlisted.
This year’s event saw sets from Professor Green, The Selecter and Badly Drawn Boy, as well as a wide range of artists from across North Tyneside, Newcastle and the wider North East.

Hide AdThe team behind the event will be up against Beardy Folk Festival in Shropshire, Lancashire’s Beat Herder, Gate To Southwell Festival in Nottinghamshire, Manchester Punk Festival and Radar Festival, which also takes place in Manchester.
Taking to social media after the shortlist announcement, the team at the festival said: “North Shields, you did it!
“The team at Coast Fest are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Best Small Festival award at the UK Festival Awards for the second year running.

The other North East shortlisted event came in the Best Non Music Festival category, in which included The North East Dog Festival also made the final list.
Winners will be announced at the UK Festival Awards on the evening of Tuesday, December 3.
