North Tyneside road closures: Every closed road in Whitley Bay and Tynemouth for the North Tyneside 10k

In addition to Easter weekend, many people in North Tyneside will be looking forward to the upcoming four day weekend as a chance to push for a new personal best as the North Tyneside 10k returns to the region.
This year the race will start in North Shields, working its way along the fish quay before heading along the coast to Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay before coming to an end at St Mary's Lighthouse.

Hide AdThe route means key parts of the coastline will be inaccessible to cars for parts of the day.
The North Tyneside 10k will take place on Sunday, March 31.
Where are the road closures in North Shields, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay for the North Tyneside 10k?
North Tyneside Council has confirmed rolling road closures will be in place throughout the morning along the following roads:
Howdon Road at the Junction of George Stephenson Way
Howdon Road at the junction of Minton Lane & Coach Lane
Dock Road
Dock Road at the junction of Lawson Street West
Dock Road at the junction of Prince Consort Way
Link Road from Dock Road to Juke Street
Link Road from Dock Road to Juke Street at the junction of The Plateau
Juke Street and New Quay
Clive Street at the junction of Borough Road
Clive Street at the junction of Bedford Street
Liddell Street
Bell Street
Union Quay
Union Road at the junction of Brewhouse Bank
Clifford Street at the junction of Union Road
Pier Road (Tynemouth)
Clifford Fort
Dock Road will also be closed from the junction of the former Smiths Dock and the Howdon Road from 7am to 11am.

Hide AdThe parking restriction at the car park at the Parks Sports Centre will be suspended from 7am to 1pm.
The approach road to St Mary’s Lighthouse and car park will also be closed from 5am to approximately 1pm to make way for race organisers.
Mini golf car park will also be closed from 5am to approximately 1pm.
