Northumberland Pine restaurant features in prestigious list

A restaurant located in Northumberland, is celebrating this week after it was featured in a prestigious restaurant list - alongside restaurants across the world. 

The team at Pine, which can be found in East Wallhouses, were delighted to find out that they had been included in La Liste, which is the world’s most comprehensive restaurant guide.

Founded in Paris in 2015, La Liste compiles the best restaurants to visit internationally, based on online reviews, restaurant guidebooks, and more. 

The list also recognises excellence in catering and hospitality industry, paying attention to cooking skills, innovation, sustainability and authenticity, among many other positive aspects that can make a restaurant successful.

La Liste scores each included a restaurant out of 100, and Pine were delighted to be given the score of 90.

Pine’s chefs Cal Byerley and Ian Waller commented: “2023 has been absolutely mega for the whole team! 

“To be recognised in La Liste is amazing, especially with the rating we received. It’s all a bit overwhelming  to be honest. 

“Restaurants are only as good as the whole team, and we’ve got an epic set of people working with us and we’re all totally buzzing that our small restaurant in a former cow shed features in such a prestigious list – which is why I guess it’ll take a bit to sink in…’’

Pine was joined by two other North East based restaurants who were also included in La Liste.

Michelin Star restaurant House of Tides, which was founded by chef Kenny Atkinson and his wife Abbie, and is located on Newcastle’s Quayside was another North East restaurant featured.

House of Tides scored a total of 87.50 out of 100.

Scandinavian restaurant Northumberland’s Hjem, who also have a Michelin Star, were also included, with a score of 84.50.
