Officers release image of man after assault in Cramlington

Officers investigating a report of assault in Cramlington, Northumberland have now released an image of a man they would like to trace.

It was reported around 8pm on June, 2 last year to Northumbria Police that a 67-year-old male was walking his dog in Valley Park, Cramlington when another male unknown to him, reportedly verbally abused the man before punching and kicking him.

The 67-year-old victim attended hospital where he was treated for facial injuries before being discharged. An investigation was subsequently launched to locate the person responsible.

As part of their enquiries and ongoing investigation, police have identified a man they would like to speak to.

The man was seen in the Valley Park area at the time and officers believe he could assist the investigation.

Police are now appealing to the public for help, and have asked the person in the image or anyone who recognises him to come forward.
