The shop describes itself as a "handcrafted, small batch micro-bakery" which specialises in sourdough breads and viennoiserie - Vienna style pastries.

Opened in 2018, it regularly offers breakfast pastries as well as bread while also offering sarnies for nearby workers and is open seven days a week to keep Ouseburn well fed.

Elsewhere in the North East, Bostock Bakery in Berwick was also listed in the top spots, taking ninth place.
