Police appeal for information after treasured medal and commemorative coins stolen

Police are appealing for information after this Gateshead theft.

Police are appealing for information after a Gateshead family were reportedly burgled with thieves taking a haul of sentimental items.

It was reported that between 4.10pm and 4.40pm on July 7, an offender had entered an address on Silverdale Drive after smashing the patio door.

Once inside, the male has stolen jewellery, a number of memorial £5 coins and a medal belonging to the victim’s father, commemorating his long service while working on ship.

An investigation into the burglary has been launched and a range of enquiries already carried out.

Today (Monday) police are appealing to the public, asking for their assistance and have also issued images of the stolen items in the hopes anyone who comes across them, or has information about their whereabouts can get in touch.
