Police release image of man after reported sexual assault in Gateshead town centre

Police have released an image of a man they would like to identify in connection with a report of sexual assault in Gateshead town centre.

On August 29, between 9pm and 9.15pm, police received a report that a woman was approached by an unknown male on West Street in Gateshead.

The man reportedly grabbed the victim by the waist and kissed her on the cheek, mouth and neck without consent. The woman then left the scene, but was followed by the man for a period of time before he made off on foot.

Officers have now released an image of a man they would like to trace as part of their enquiries. The man was in the area at the time of the incident and could have valuable information that can assist the ongoing investigation.
