EVNT Inspiration, which organises Moosenwirt, has unveiled that there will be the creation of the North Pole around Grey’s Monument, which will see a number of igloo pods built on a raised platform - with each one seating up to 12 people.

These pods can be boked ahead of time for any group wanting to enjoy a Christmas celebration.

Organisers have confirmed that the pods will be available for a 90-minute slot, with the payment redeemable on food and drink.

Visitors will also be able to walk up and use the pods, subject to availability.

EVNT Inspiration will also be running the new Christmas Village at Old Eldon Square where a host of family-friendly activities will be on offer from November 16 right through to Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Village will host live music and children’s entertainment at the Rocking Reindeer Stage, with a chance for schools and local choirs to perform by contacting the organisers at [email protected].

Children will also be able to sign up for the Elf School, which will see them learn how to make a Christmas decoration, sing songs and make magic dust during a 30-minute workshop.

Every child taking part will receive a certificate at the end to show that they are a qualified elf.

One of the last remaining vintage carousels in the UK – dating back to 1896 – will also take up residence at the village, where there will also be a letterbox for children to post letters to Santa.

The village will also include two Santa virtual reality experiences; one of a sleigh ride to see Father Christmas and the other a ski jump.
