The fashion research revealed that Newcastle students spend an average of £64 per order.

A top fashion brand has voted Newcastle students the second most fashionable in the UK.

Pretty Little Thing, who are one of the most popular online fashion retailers, ranked university cities based on number of students, their monthly spend on clothing and the number of Pretty Little Thing orders using student codes.

Newcastle took the second place spot out of fifteen cities, with data revealing that the average student spent £64 per clothing shop. Pretty Little Thing gave our city a total score of 79.3%.

While Birmingham were crowned the most fashionable city, with their average clothing spend at £71 with a total score of 94.8%, Liverpool followed Newcastle in third place with a total score of 72.6%.

Senior Stylist at Pretty Little Thing, Sophie O’Neil, commented on the study: “It’s no surprise that Birmingham, Newcastle and Liverpool top our list, if students are following in the footsteps of style icons Liberty Poole, Abbey Clancy and Vicky Pattison.

The study from the fashion brand who have worked with the likes of Little Mix, Molly Mae and Naomi Campbell,  also revealed the must-have Autumn clothing items for students this year, which included hoodies, jumpers, jeans, cargo pants and puffer jackets
