Autumn is officially here, and it won’t be long before fireworks light up the long, cold nights as we creep towards Christmas.

Between now and the festive season we have firework night and a popular North East annual event is returning once again this year. Thousands of people are expected to head to Gateshead’s Saltwell Park and this is everything you need to know about the event this year.

When are firework displays at Saltwell Park in 2023?

With Bonfire Night falling on a Sunday this year, the firework displays will take place on the evening of Saturday, November 4.

What time are the 2023 firework displays at Saltwell Park?

Event organisers are promising two public firework displays this year. The first of these will start at 5:30pm and is designed for young children while the main display will get underway at 7:30pm.

The first display is expected to last 10 minutes while the main display will run for just under 20 minutes.

How to buy tickets for Saltwell Park’s firework displays

Tickets are now available online through the event’s website.

Tickets cost £7 per person with children under two years old able to gain free entry.

What time does Saltwell Park open for its firework displays?

Entrance gates across the site will open at 4pm, 90 minutes before the first display with the full event coming to a close at 9pm.

What else is on site for families?

The displays aren’t the only things for families to enjoy throughout the evening. Organisers are promising a huge fairground which will be open throughout the evening as well as street food and stage entertainment including DJs, a fire show, dancers and more.

Although no public parking will be open and road closures will be in place, a park and ride service will be in operation from Gateshead Interchange.

Organisers are recommending the use of public transport to travel to and from the event.
