Sam Fender ‘spotted’ in Newcastle dress shop window by fan

A Sam Fender fan on a visit to Newcastle was delighted to find a lifesize cutout of the North Shields superstar in a dress shop window.

Jerry Austriaco, aged 42 from Chicago, has travelled to Newcastle specifically to see Sam Fender perform live.

As he walked towards his hotel, he found what he called “a nice surprise”, a Sam Fender-themed display in the window of Accent Original Bridal Boutique, which is located on Mosley Street in the city centre.

The bridal dress shop gave their front window a Sam Fender makeover, as they have placed a lifesize cutout of the superstar in which he is wearing a black suit, alongside a mannequin in a wedding dress.

Above the Sam Fender cutout was a sign for St James’ Park, referencing his upcoming two-date hometown concert, which will be taking place today (Friday, June 9), and on Saturday, June 10.

Jerry said of finding the display: “I saw it as I was walking towards my hotel - or I may have been lost!

“This is my first time in Newcastle, so I just loved seeing evidence that the community really gets behind and supports one of its favourite sons.”

Accent Original Bridal Boutique said that they made the decision as a way to mark the occasion of Sam Fender’s St James’ Park gigs.

They said: “We are over the moon that our display was spotted by fellow Sam Fender fans. All of us here at Accent Original Bridal Boutique are huge fans ourselves, and will be attending St James’ Park on Saturday, we can’t wait!

“We love how much he represents Newcastle, so we thought we would go all out with our window display especially to celebrate his concert at St James’ Park this weekend.”

Accent Original Bridal Boutique also shared a reel on their Instagram account of their Sam Fender window display.

They captioned the reel: “SAM FENDER’S IN THE TOON 🤍🖤🤍🖤

“First time we’ve had a man in the window! Celebrating Sam this weekend.. we cannot wait to see him at St James’ Park on Saturday 🤘🏻Who’s going this weekend??”

Fans of the Seventeen Going Under singer are travelling from across the world to see the star in action at the weekend, in what is set to be one of his greatest performances.
