Greggs and Primark have collaborated once again, as Greggs have opened a cafe within Newcastle’s Primark store.

The cafe, which is named Tasty by Greggs, is located on the second floor of Newcastle’s Primark, which can be found on Northumberland Street.

The brand-new cafe is not the first to open in the UK, with the first opening in Primark’s largest store in Birmingham, and the second in London’s Oxford Street store.

However, Newcastle is hailed ‘the home of Greggs’ due to its humble beginnings in Gosforth in 1939, and the new cafe will be the 13th Greggs in the city centre of Newcastle.

Tony Rowson, Property Director at Greggs, said: “Following the success of our first two ‘Tasty by Greggs’ cafes in Birmingham and London last year, the opening of our third café in Newcastle, the home of Greggs, marks another milestone moment for us as we continue to focus our efforts on new on-the-go locations where people work, shop and travel.”

Newcastle’s Tasty by Greggs opened to the public today (Wednesday, March 22), and offers a menu of Greggs favourites, including sausage rolls, bakes, sweet treats, and coffee. They also will be offering sharing size pizzas, iced lattes and stotties.

The 114 seat cafe has a unique and fun interior, with doughnut inspired booths, a sausage roll swing, a Tyne Bridge structure, an interactive Greggs phone box and more.

Tim Kelly, Director of New Business Development at Primark added: “We’re thrilled with the success of our partnership with Greggs to date – ranging from three sell-out collections to now three brilliant cafes, we’re constantly on the lookout for new ways to inspire and excite customers. We’re excited to be extending our partnership to new locations including Newcastle so more customers can visit two of the best brands on the British high street in one go.”
