This year marks a return for a summer football tournament and Newcastle is getting ready to cheer on Gareth Southgate’s squad throughout the European Championships.

Hide AdNX on Westgate Road is opening up for every England game once again with tickets available online while another hugely popular site returns at the Centre For Life fanzone which is promising live interviews with ex-England players and “an atmosphere like no other.”
Other pubs and bars across the city will also be giving fans top experiences all over the city.
The Blaydon Race
As the song of the same name suggests, the Blaydon Race sees runners head from the city centre into Gateshead on the ninth of June, which falls on a Sunday this year.

Hide AdPlaces in the race are now full, although the event offers a fantastic experience as runners line up along the Quayside to kick the race off with a rendition of the iconic song.

Newcastle and the North East is an underrated part of the UK when it comes to music, and June will show that off in abundance.

Hide AdGirls Aloud and James kick off the month at the Utilita Arena while Doja Cat heads to the same venue later in June.
Other top gigs include The Levellers at NX and Riskee and the Ridicule at The Cluny over in Ouseburn while Newcastle Racecourse in Gosforth will welcome Madness.
The Three Lions return to the North East
For the first time since 2016, England’s male senior team will head to the North East. The city is expected to come alive on Monday, June 3 when Gareth Southgate’s squad host Bosnia and Herzegovina.
