SIX Rooftop to host exclusive and interactive chef’s dining experience to showcase local produce

The restaurant, which has breathtaking views of the River Tyne, is hosting the special 9-course tasting menu event.

A highly-regarded Quayside rooftop restaurant has announced that they are set to host an exclusive and interactive dining experience, showcasing their Spring produce.

SIX Rooftop, which is located on the Gateshead side of the Quayside, will be hosting their first ever Chef’s Dining Experience, named A Taste of Spring on Friday, May 31.

The event which will begin at 5.30pm will involve a limited number of guests experiencing a unique, meticulously crafted 9-course tasting menu, courtesy of SIX Rooftop’s Food Director, Greg Lambert.

The menu has been designed to celebrate Spring’s first flush of produce, while also showcasing ingredients from local suppliers and producers.

Guests will also be given the opportunity to enjoy specially selected drinks, with each carefully chosen by SIX Rooftop’s sommelier team to complement the flavours of the dishes on the menu.

SIX Rooftop’s Food Director Greg Lambert said: ‘’We’ve decided to launch our very first Chef’s Dining Experience ‘A Taste of Spring’ to celebrate SIX Rooftop recently being awarded two AA rosettes for culinary excellence and earning a listing in the Michelin Guide for the first time ever. 

“Both are huge for the entire team, and we all wanted to host an exclusive event to celebrate with our guests and mark the occasion properly, and what better way to do it with the new season’s produce incorporated into a special producer led tasting menu designed to show something of our future ambition for SIX.’’

To ensure the experience is truly exclusive, SIX Rooftop will only cater to 74 guests for £95 per person, which will include the 9-course menu, matched drinks pairings and a welcome drink on arrival. 

The 9-course menu will include dishes such as Lindisfarne Oysters, North Sea Mackerel, Wild Rabbit, Orkney Scallop, Herb Fed Chicken & Wiltshire Truffle, Peach, Dark Chocolate and Petit Fours.
