Lauren Amour from South Shields, wrote her first ever Christmas song at just 16-years-old. Her song Please Santa, was released just in time for Christmas last year on December 4.

Now, almost a year later. Lauren has released a special version of the song in memory of a special person in her life.  The track, named Please Santa (Tribute To George) is a more slow and stripped back version of the original.

“I chose to re-release Please Santa as a dedication to someone close to me who passed away from brain cancer last month,” she said. “He was like a father figure to me for many years, and was one of my biggest supporters.”

Lauren explains that George himself was in the music industry in his younger years, and she decided to honour that by choosing a photo of George performing as the single cover. “If he was here today I think he’d be very proud to know that he’s on a cover,” she said.

Lauren has over 366 thousand followers on TikTok, where she uploads singing videos of covers, original songs and rewrites of songs from a different perspective.

Lauren has travelled to America to help her music career, and went on to release two singles last year, named Friendzone and Girlcode.
