As well as being a big day for Irish communities across the world, St Patricks Day has turned into a huge day for Newcastle's hospitality sector.
From parades to rammed bars and more cultural minded events too, there is plenty on in Newcastle for St. Patrick's Day in 2024.

Hide AdEvents at Tyneside Irish Centre
Unsurprisingly, the Tyneside Irish Centre will be a hub for action in Newcastle on St. Patrick's Day.
The Centre has a full calendar of events that start on the Friday evening of the weekend with a night of live music in the site's bar before a family fun day the following day.
The site is promising free dancing, music and craft with snacks and drinks between 1pm and 3pm before a ticketed night of live music from 7:30pm.

Newcastle's top racecourse in Gosforth has a full schedule of races from 1:27pm with doors opening two hours before. Racing will take place until nearly 5pm while further entertainment will come from traditional singing and dancing throughout the day.
Organisers have also promised the Six Nations Rugby will also be shown on screens across the venue.

Paddy's Fest
Paddy's Fest is set to bring a party to Newcastle city centre this March as organisers confirm that the popular event is back.
The four-day event will run from Thursday, March 14, until Sunday, March 17, and will be based in Times Square.

Hide AdVisitors can expect a host of food, drink, live music and even a rodeo bull as the event prepares for another successful year.
Kicking off on Thursday, March 14, visitors will be treated to the "ultimate immersive darts experience", where they will be in with a chance to play against professional players and win prizes.
Nights out in Newcastle for St Patricks Day
The much loved Bongo's Bingo is back in the North East at the moment and it has perfectly timed a night to fall the day before St Patrick's Day with extra special prizes, although the whole event has now sold out.
Anyone looking for a night in town still has plenty of options.
