Newcastle city centre hasn’t changed that much since in recent years. Most of the buildings remain the same and immediately recognisable from these old photographs.
However, flicking through them you can see the transformation some of our pubs and clubs have gone through.
Names have changed and some have been abandoned for a long time.
Others, on the other hand, have remained almost extactly the same.
So let’s take a stroll through the history of Newcastle through its top drinking spots.

1. Haymarket
