The Alnwick Garden has been named one of the most Instagrammable Gardens in the UK.

In a study by UK price comparison website, Idealo, where they analysed Instagram data and Google search volumes to reveal the most popular gardens across the country, it was found that Northumberland’s The Alnwick Garden was in the top 10.

Behind the likes of London’s Kew Gardens (who took the top spot) and Cornwall’s Eden Project, The Alnwick Garden, located on Denwick Lane in Alnwick, was placed on the list, with the study revealing a staggering 34,433 Instagram posts of the beautiful garden.

The Alnwick Garden is a complex of formal gardens, with various themed planting centred around their beautiful water cascade.

The Alnwick Garden has a rich history, with the first garden laid in 1750, by Hugh Percy, the 1st Duke of Northumberland.

In the present day, The Alnwick Garden is regularly frequented by residents from the local area and those who travel to visit the Northumberland garden.

The Alnwick Garden have an events schedule which features outdoor theatre, historical tours, assault courses, workshops and much more as well as their own adventure golf course.

They also offer dining in two locations within The Alnwick Garden. Afternoon Tea can be enjoyed in The Pavillion, which overlooks the water cascade, while main meals can be enjoyed at the unique Treehouse Restaurant.
