The Hoppings funfair Newcastle: Price, car parking, travel and more

Summer hasn't been the same in Newcastle without The Hoppings funfair taking over the Town Moor.

The popular rides and stalls are back this year and organisers are running a bumper event for the 140th anniversary.

It's been a few years since the attraction has taken to Tyneside, so NewcastleWorld is on hand to remind returning visitors and brief newbies on all the basics from prices to car parking and new travel arrangements.

When does The Hoppings open?

The Hoppings will open on Friday, June 17 and run for just over a week until Saturday, June 25.

Opening times are daily from 12 pm to 10 pm.

Is there car parking at The Hoppings?

Yes, there is car parking at The Hoppings.

What's more, Director of Crow Events, Ryan Crow has said that this year's parking system has been boosted to be more efficient.

Car parking can be pre-booked on The Hoppings website here and costs £4.

You can also pay £5 to park on the day.

How much does The Hoppings cost?

Entry to The Hoppings is free.

To ride on attractions and get food and drink, you will of course have to pay.

The price of rides ranges from £1.50 to £5.

Can I take in food and drink?

Yes, The Hoppings allows food and drink to be taken into the funfair.

Will there be alcohol to buy on-site?

Yes, this year The Hoppings will sell alcohol.

However, it can only be bought and consumed alongside a meal.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed to enter The Hoppings funfair.

However, they must be kept on a lead at all times.

Can I get public transport to The Hoppings?

The Hoppings takes place on the Newcastle Town Moor, which is a short walk from Haymarket and Jesmond Metro stations.

There are also a number of nearby bus stops.

This year The Hoppings is also launching a partnership with Blueline taxis for those wanting to travel to and from in a cab.
