Hide AdThe August Bank Holiday in the UK is on Monday, August 26 and these are some of the things you can do to enjoy yourself before we enter September.
The return of Naughty 90's Festival Festival to Leazes Park is set to be huge this weekend. Boasting live music across three stages as well as funfair rides, arcades and street food stalls across Leazes Park, the one-day event will run over the Saturday afternoon and evening of the weekend.
B’Witched and Darren Styles will headline the day while sets from Basshunter East 17, Gareth Gates and more will also perform. Tickets remain available through the event’s website.

Hide AdElsewehre in the city, the hugely popular SIX Rooftop bar at The Baltic is offering cocktail masterclass sessions on Sunday, August 25. During the two-hour session, participants will have access to all of the necessary bar-tending equipment, and cocktail glasses, as well as all the ingredients they’ll need from SIX's range of spirits and mixers.
After a demonstration on how to make each drink, you can get behind your own fully stocked cocktail-making station and learn to create two signature cocktails from the site’s menu.

Anyone looking for more live music is in luck this weekend with a series of gigs taking place across the city. Yorkshire indie rockers Milburn return to the North East on Saturday at Boiler Shop.

Hide AdElsewhere a Queen tribute act is performing at City Hall on the same night and anyone looking to support a local up and coming artist can see Keiran Bowe at The Cluny on Friday night. The same venue is hosting The Peevie Wonders the following day.
Nightlife
The city is famous for its nightlife, and the August Bank Holiday weekend is one of the biggest weekends in Newcastle.
Trillians Rock Bar is hosting a night of live music and drinks from 5pm while there are plenty of options later into the night.

Hide AdDay drinking options are available through Platform47’s event at Revolución de Cuba while well known clubs such as Soho Rooms, Skint at The Points and many more are hosting special nights.
One of the top options this weekend comes from World Headquarters. The famous club which bills itself as Newcastle's top and longest running underground club is hosting three huge nights.
This kicks off on Friday with a night of bass music including DnB, Jungle and Garage before the site’s Xtra Lively event returns on Saturday.

Hide AdThe weekend will close with the venue going back to its roots with a night of hip hop, funk, boogie, US house and soul.
With the kids
Parents looking to keep the kids entertained are also in luck thanks to a series of events across the city. NE1’s Screen On The Green continues with free viewings of films including 101 Dalmations, Toy Storyand Guardians Of The Galaxy across the weekend. Ouseburn Farm has plenty going on over the summer holidays too, while special sessions are available to book over the coming days.
