Tyne Theatre panto stars to dazzle on Life’s ice rink

The colourful and magical characters of Peter Pan will be taking to an iconic ice rink in Newcastle, this festive season.
The stars of the Tyne Theatre and Opera House’s pantomime production of Peter Pan will be putting on their ice skates and taking to Newcastle’s Life Science Centre’s open air outdoor ice rink.

Hide AdPeter Pan is being played by Eastenders star Matt Lapinskas, who is no stranger to the ice skates, having competed in ITV’s Dancing On Ice in 2013, and coming in second place in the competition.
Matt said: “I’m thrilled to be playing Peter Pan at Tyne Theatre and Opera House in Newcastle. While I’m up here, I can’t wait to hit the ice at Life Science Centre’s outdoor rink.”

He continued: “The joy of skating is something I cherish, and I’m eagerly looking forward to gliding on the ice and experiencing the magic of both stage and ice in this incredible city.”

Hide AdMatt will be joined by his Peter Pan co-stars Lewis Denny who plays Mrs Smee and Micky Cochrane who plays Captain Hook.
The trio of pantomime stars will take to the rink which is located at Times Square tonight (Friday, 24 November) at 7pm.
Life Science Centre’s outdoor ice rink is made with real ice, and is a highly-anticipated part of the festive activities which take place in Newcastle each year.
The ice rink will remain open until Sunday, January 7, with skaters of all ages and abilities welcome to give the ultimate festive experience a go.
