One of the biggest deals of the summer in the city has been the arrival of long-time friend, Adidas, back to Newcastle.

I mean, it was always here obviously, but it’s association with Newcastle United, and the city as a whole runs deep. And things haven’t been quite the same around these parts without it around, adorning the shoulders of Geordies everywhere.

So when the agreement to make NUFC shirts was announced, the outpouring of joy across the region was palpable.

We’ve so far seen the black and white home shirt announced, with the blue and maroon change kit and green, white and black third to follow. A whole host of training and leisure apparel has also been revealed, with Geordies lapping it up - and clearing out their bank balances in the process.

Another shop, rumoured to be stocking more specialised NUFC gear, although that was never confirmed, is city staple End.

Known for their high end sporting fashion, the store, which had humble beginnings - I spent much of my student loan at the place - on High Bridge, now have a much larger shopping quarter store, on Grey Street - as well as others across the Manchester, Glasgow and one in London.

And they’ve teased a new Adidas range of their own, with a nod to the area’s coastal life added in.

On social media End revealed an Adidas SPZL range by showing an aerial shot of King Edward’s Bay, Tynemouth, with the sand marked out with adidas range logo.

The post reads: “END. x adidas SPZL “By the Sea”, announcement coming soon.” Another one to damage the bank balance of Geordies, I’m sure.
