Vick Hope hosts BRIT nominations - everything you need to know about the Newcastle-born presenter

Newcastle-born TV and radio presenter, Vick Hope has had quite an impressive presenting career since her beginning in the industry.

33-year-old Vick, is a presenter on BBC Radio 1, and hosts her own morning breakfast show on ITV. She has also presented various spin-off and companion shows such as I’m A Celebrity…The Daily Drop, and worked as a backstage presenter on The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019.

Vick hosted The BRIT Awards 2023 nomination show, named Bring On The Brits. The show, which was streamed on The BRIT’s YouTube channel, announced which artists, songs and more were nominated for which categories, for the upcoming award show on February 11.

Before she embarked on her successful presenting career, Vick was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the Hexham area. According to The Northern Echo, Vick studied at Dame Allan’s School from 2000 until 2007. However, Vick does not have a Geordie accent.

She went on to study modern languages at the University of Cambridge, and can speak French, Spanish and Portuguese. Vick decided to take a year abroad, living in Argentina at the age of 19. In Argentina, Vick secured a role as a journalist for a newspaper, The Argentina Independent.

This career move helped Vick to become noticed for her work, and led to her presenting shows for MTV. From then, Vick became a well-known presenter across various channels, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Disney Channel and many more. Vick stayed true to her roots and has presented live coverage of the Great North Run.

Despite only being in her early thirties, Vick has packed a lot of achievements and experience in her career so far. In 2018, she competed in Strictly Come Dancing, and was paired with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima. In 2020, Vick released her first ever book, a children’s novel named Listen Up: Rule the Airwaves, Rule the School.

Vick keeps her personal life fairly private, however it has been reported that she is engaged to Scottish DJ, Calvin Harris.
