Prime minister Boris Johnson has been in the North East for the annual CBI conference. There was a real focus on levelling up at the conference, with calls for attention to be spread evenly throughout the UK instead of prioritising South East England.

A new Burger King is the last thing we need according to locals in Newcastle. Developers want to open up a branch of the fast food giant on the site of an empty Newcastle police station. However,  the plans have faced objections due to the negative impact this could have on people’s health.

And finally, as the Christmas party season approaches, North East charity One Punch UK has launched it’s Punched Out Cold Campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the devastation that one punch can cause and urges people to consider the consequences of their actions.
