A man has been found dead in a block of flats in Walker.

Emergency services were called to the property on Saturday afternoon to find a 47 year old man with life threatening injuries. He unfortunately died at the scene and a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Meanwhile, Northern Power Grid have said that they hope to bring power back to everyone this week after Storm Arwen cut thousands of people off.

Thousands of homes lost power after Storm Arwen hit the North East over a week ago and many homes are still without power.

And finally, new eco friendly homes will be coming to Newcastle’s West End.

25 houses and flats will be built on the site of the demolished South Benwell School on Buddle Road along with a common house that can be used by the residents.

The Cohousing Community aims to bring people together by using the common room as a space where people can eat and meet up with each other.
