Meanwhile, Newcastle RVI has unveiled a first look at the £190 million new wing.

The proposed Richardson Wing is part of the government’s project to build 40 new hospitals by 2030 and it is hoped that the new building will help the hospital tackle huge waiting lists caused by delays during the pandemic.

Newcastle City Council originally rejected the scheme last year but the developer appealed so they will have the chance to attend an inquiry to give their case.
