Nexus is giving community groups and organisations a final chance to give an old Metro trains a new lease of life.

After investment for new state of the art trains, the current 40 year old fleet will be decommissioned.

The aim of the scheme is to donate up to five Metro carriages for the community after they are not in use.

Meanwhile, a nursery in Newcastle is set to be shut down due to dwindling usage and mounting debt.

Cruddas Park Early Years Centre is expected to shut with a debt of more than £300,000.

And finally, a street food restaurant on Clayton Street has won a national award for their authentic Delhi food.

My Delhi was awarded Best Street Food Restaurant of the Year at the Asian Curry Awards in London.

This is their second national award this month after they won Best Street Food Restaurant of the Year at the English Curry Awards.
