We asked the people of Newcastle what they are looking forward to this summer

Holidays, days away or simply better weather than the damp start to the year we have had so far- whatever you are looking forward to this summer, we all have our goals for when the ngiths get longer and days get warmer.

We took to the streets of Newcastle and asked the public what they are looking forward to this year.

“Hopefully I’ll get to the beach, get some sunshine” said Maddie, who we met near Monument. I love the space, the beaches and I like the cleanliness. I really hope it’s safe to swim in the sea!”

Graeme said: “We’re going on a family holiday to Italy, so that’s pretty exciting.” The group are flying to Lake Garda in Italy later this year.

Brenda Simspson added: “I like the coast and Whitley Bay. I just like our coast.”
