

After donning suncream and t shirts over the weekend, big jackets were back out in force around Newcastle as this week progressed, and with the weather so temperamental over the last few days, all eyes are turning to this weekend.
Snowfall towards the end of the week across the North East is leaving a cold run-in to the weekend, but what will the weather produce on Saturday and Sunday?

According to the Met Office, scattered showers on Friday may continue into Saturday morning and wintry weather may also continue. These wintry spells from inland are likely to subside before they reach Tyneside but snow and sleet may still fall.
Compared to the end of the working week, the rain is expected to to not be as heavy, while the yellow weather warnings for ice which are issued for Thursday and Friday will be redacted ahead of the weekend.
Temperatures on Saturday are expected to reach seven degrees with lows of three degrees overnight.

Sunday is set to be drier with more sunshine expected throughout the day and minimal chance of rain. Temperatures are also expected to be higher with the mercury hitting nine degrees, although early risers may experience lows of one or two degrees.
Minimal wind is expected throughout the weekend, with any wind expected to come from the west but no speeds expected to exceed 11 mph.
Temperatures only just hitting double figures is expected to be a common occurrence as we enter next week, with dry but grey weather expected from Monday until Wednesday.
