The North east has been a weather anomaly over the last few days. While the majority of the UK has basked in warm temperatures, reaching 30°C in some parts of southern England we have seen above average temperatures but nothing compared to the rest of the country.

The Met Office is predicting this weekend is where this all changes though, with a series of clear, sunny days and warm temperatures expected.

The Met Office has also advised the public should be wary of very high levels of UV light. This will peak from around 12 noon and will last for around two hours.

Clear skies and high levels of UV light from the sun will continue into Tuesday, June 13 where Newcastle will see highs of 20°C before Wednesday cools further with highs of 18°C, although UV ratings are expected to remain very high.
