Sam Fender at St James Park: Met Office predicts weather forecast for huge Newcastle shows

After months of anticipation, Sam Fender is returning to St James Park this weekend.

After performing over two huge nights at the home of Newcastle United in 2023, the North Tyneside star is returning for three shows, kicking off with the first on Thursday, June 12.

The following two shows will take place on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15.

While June has kicked off the summer months with mixed conditions across the North East, thousands of music fans heading to St James Par this week will be hoping any rain stays away.

The Met Office forecast for the first show of the week on Thursday shows a clear, sunny day through the build up to the event with cloud cover starting from around 4pm when doors open.

A small chance of showers will run from 4pm until around 6pm before sunny spells return into the remainder of the evening. Although the Met Office predicts temperatures will run from 16°C in the late afternoon, it is thought this will feel slightly cooler. Overnight lows will fall to around 14°C with minimal wind.

The second show on Saturday, June 14 is also expected to see mixed conditions, although it is thought any rain will fall early in the morning before another short spell of showers lasting from 1pm until mid afternoon. By the time doors open at St James Park it is thought Tyneside will see sunny spells into the evening.

Saturday is expected to be the warmest of the three nights with temperatures on the day peaking at 20°C, although it is thought the air may feel slightly cooler - closer to 17°C with less wind than the previous show. Temperatures will fall to 14°C into the night.

Sunday will be slightly cooler, but significantly drier with no rain predicted by the Met Office across the day. This may, however, be the windiest day of the three with wind gusts potentially hitting 30 miles per hour.

Temperatures are expected to hit 18 degrees but, once again, may feel slightly cooler with conditions feeling closer to 13°C after sunset.
