The two male victims, aged 18 and 19, were walking past the premises towards Front Street when they got into an altercation with a large group who were walking in the opposite direction towards the aquarium.

Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment after the attack.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible, and officers are now appealing for anybody who witnessed the assault to come forward.

They are especially keen to hear from anybody who was driving in the area and who may have dashcam footage showing a large group of people – mostly male and of whom some were topless – walking down Grand Parade about that time.

Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of their website or by calling 101 quoting crime number 094083M/22.
