Woman 'raped and sexually assaulted' in Newcastle - CCTV image released by Northumbria Police

The attack is said to have occurred on Union Street in Shieldfield between 12.45am and 1.05am on February 1.

The victim is being supported by specially trained officers.

As part of their investigation, Northumbria Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “He was in the area at the time the incident is reported to have taken place, and we believe he could assist us with our enquiries.”
