We first got to know Sam when she competed on the 13th series of The X Factor UK in 2016, being the fifth contestant from the North East to notably compete in the televised singing competition headed up by Simon Cowell.

Sam came in seventh place on the show, and since then has gone on to become a DJ, hosting on Capital North East on weekdays.

Now, it has been announced that she will take to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House stage this Christmas, for their production of Peter Pan.

Sam will star as Tiger Lily, a close friend of Peter Pan who lives in Neverland. Also starring in the production is Matt Lapinskas as Peter Pan, Cleo Demetriou as Wendy, Phoebe Garr as Tinker Bell, Micky Cochrane as Captain Hook and Mr Darling, as well as regular pantomime stars Charlie Richmond as Mr Smee, and Lewis Denny as Mrs Smee and Dame.

Producer of Peter Pan at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House, Guy Pascall said: “Peter Pan is the most dazzling pantomime of them all and ever since Disney sprinkled their magic touch on the story it’s become a firm favourite with audiences.

“The story has the most wonderful characters, such as Tinker Bell, Nana the dog, Captain Hook, Tiger Lily and plenty of Pirates - it really has something for everyone. We can’t wait to start rehearsing the flying sequences with Matt Lapinskas and Cleo Demetriou, and we’re really looking forward to entertaining Newcastle audiences this Christmas”.

Peter Pan will open at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House on Friday, December 8 and will run into the New Year, with the final performance taking place on Sunday, January 7.
