Newcastle Restaurant Week arrives on Tyneside next week and Geordie excitement to enjoy cheap meals out is palpable - one participating restaurant saw its booking system crash last week amidst a scramble for tables.

NE1's Newcastle Restaurant Week has become a real highlight in the Newcastle foodie calendar, taking place twice a year and running ever since 2011. This January's bumper event is a record-breaker for organisers, with an impressive 116 venues signed up to take part.

Several of the restaurants who took part in the very first event all those years are back again, and there are a host of new faces too, including St. James' Park and some venues that weren't even open this time last year.

Last year Newcastle Restaurant Week delivered a £1.5 million boost for participating businesses with 85,000 people taking part, and many of your favourite local eateries will be hoping for more custom this January.

With tummies rumbling and wallets ready for a very light workout, NewcastleWorld has all you need to know for NE1's Newcastle Restaurant Week 2023.

When is Newcastle Restaurant Week for January 2023?

Newcastle Restaurant Week kicks off on Monday, January 16 and will last until Sunday, January 22.

The deal menus are available for both lunch and dinner on those days, to give as many as possible the chance to eat out cheap.

Which venues are taking part in Newcastle Restaurant Week?

To be frank, at this stage, there are so many restaurants signed up to Restaurant Week and keen to slash prices to attract new customers, you're more likely to stumble into one that's taking part rather than one that isn't.

Nonetheless, no doubt there's an illusive venue you've been dying to try, you can check if it makes this lengthy list of participating restaurants below.
