Valentine’s Day is approaching, and there are plenty of special ways to celebrate the day with your loved one in Newcastle.

The annual celebration of love, takes place on February 14, which is on a Tuesday this year.

Businesses across Newcastle are already making plans of how to celebrate the holiday, putting together special events and deals that couples can book.

Although many are yet to be announced, we have compiled a list of the Valentine’s Day events and ways to celebrate that are currently available to book.

Tour of Newcastle Castle

On Valentine’s Day, Newcastle Castle will be hosting two exclusive tours of the Grade I historical venue. The guided tour will involve telling stories of those who have lived in the castle. Guests will also enjoy a glass of wine and a sweet treat in the Great Hall, as well as experiencing a beautiful view of Newcastle from the rooftop of the Great Tower. The tours will take place at 6pm and 8pm. Tickets can be purchased here.

Valentine’s 5K, 10K Run and Couples Relay

If you and your partner are an active couple, this event may be ideal for you. The event will take place on the Sunday before Valentine’s Day (February 12), on Newcastle’s Town Moor. It is open to anyone, however the event organisers, Run Nation, are hosting a special relay race for couples. Tickets are available to purchase here. 

Histeria: Valentine’s Special

Times Square night club, Digital, will be hosting a special Valentine’s Day club night. The event hosted by Histeria, will see a range of local DJs and MCs perform, alongside other talented performers. Tickets can be purchased in store at Reflex Records, or online here.

Tina Turner and Whitney Houston Tribute Valentines Supper Club

On the Saturday before Valentine’s Day (February 11), Beamish Park Hotel will be hosting a special Valentine’s version of their Supper Club. The event will feature two tribute performers to Whitney Houston and Tina Turner. Guests will also enjoy a two course supper alongside the live show. The event can be booked for £39.95, however you can also add on an overnight stay with breakfast - which all together is priced at £89.50. Tickets can be booked by contacting the hotel directly.

True Romance: Valentine’s Day Movie Night at Ouseburn Garden

On Valentine’s Day, Ouseburn Garden will be showing a special screening of the 1993 crime movie, True Romance. The venue will have cosy fire pits to sit at to enjoy the film, as well as food options provided by Brack Burger. The event is for over 18s only, and will begin at 7pm. Tickets are available to be purchased here. 

Dine at Newcastle Bar + Block

Newcastle steakhouse restaurant, Bar + Block, which is located on Newgate Street have released a special Valentine’s Day menu for not just lovers, but for Galentines and Palentines customers too. The special menu offers two courses for only £24.95. Not only are they offering delicious main course options and sharing boards but they have also released a special Valentine’s Day cocktail - Pink Gin Kiss.

Enjoy Derwent Crossing Brewers Fayre with all of the family
