After a disappointing 2-0 loss to Liverpool at St James' Park brought the record-equalling Newcastle United unbeaten streak to an end on Saturday, the thoughts of Magpies' supporters will be turning towards Wembley Stadium.

Eddie Howe will lead his men into the club's first trip to London since 2000 in a bid to win a first major trophy since 1955. All that stands in the way is a buoyant Manchester United side led by Erik ten Hag.

After a stuttering start to the season, the Red Devils are now being touted as potential Premier League champions after a rampant run of form led by Marcus Rashford's 11 goals in as many games.

Newcastle United will go into the final off the back of that disappointing loss and a couple of underwhelming draws, but ambition will be high after the successes of the previous 12 months.

While Howe and his backroom staff are preparing the tactics to try and defeat the in-form Manchester United, NewcastleWorld has tasked the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT with doing exactly that.

The chatbot, developed by OpenAI, has gained viral attention since its launch late last year with its spookily detailed replies. Here's how it thinks Eddie Howe's side can defeat Manchester United when we asked: "How can Eddie Howe's Newcastle United defeat Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday?"

1 - Defensive Solidarity

ChatGPT wisely advises that Newcastle ‘will need to be defensively solid and organized to prevent Manchester United from scoring’. The chatbot highlights focusing on ‘maintaining a compact shape and cutting off the supply lines to Manchester United's attacking players’. It adds that a ‘counter-attack with pace’ would catch the Red Devils out.

2 - Exploit set-pieces

ChatGPT believes that Manchester United have a ‘vulnerability in defending set-pieces’. It added that Newcastle ‘can practice their set-piece routines and use their tall players to their advantage to score from set-pieces’.

3 - Individual brilliance

The chatbot names Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin as players ‘who are capable of producing moments of individual brilliance’. The programme believes the duo has ‘the ability to create chances and score goals out of nothing’.

4 - Play with confidence

"A positive and confident mindset can go a long way in football," ChatGPT said. The AI warned Eddie Howe's side to ‘not be intimidated by the occasion’ and to ‘believe in themselves and their abilities to win the game’.
