Elf the Musical to perform to a Newcastle audience for the first time

Utilita Arena in Newcastle have announced that an exciting Christmas production will be heading to their stage this December.

Although Christmas is still a while away (eight months to be exact), some of us are already looking forward to the festive period.

It has now been announced that the musical version of fan-favourite Christmas movie, Elf will be arriving in Newcastle on December 30.

The 2003 movie which stars Will Ferrell in the lead role, is now regarded as a modern Christmas classic.

The plot focuses on Buddy the Elf, finding out that he is actually a human and heading to New York City in search of his biological father.

The musical theatre production of the movie was created in 2010, and performed on Broadway. The show was revived in 2012 for Broadway once again, before embarking on a full US tour in 2013.

In 2015 and 2016, Elf the Musical performed on London’s West End. The West End show was revived in December 2022.

Now, Elf the Musical will embark on its first ever full UK tour, performing at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on both December 30 and December 31.

Casting for the production is yet to be announced.
