The Premier League form table since Carabao Cup final shows big Newcastle, Man Utd & Liverpool difference

The Premier League table has a different look to it and the race for Champions League football on form since the Carabao Cup final.

It's been a long 10 weeks since Newcastle United fans made the pilgrimage to Wembley Stadium to take on Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final for their first visit to the hallowed ground since 1999.

The Magpies were unlucky 2-0 losers in that game and the wait for major silverware goes on, although fans will sense that it can't be too far away with a new wave of optimism sweeping Tyneside.

That cup final may have been the club's biggest match in decades, but the pressure hasn't let up since then with every Premier League match meaning a lot in the side's quest for Champions League football next season.

Major scalps against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have come since the Carabao Cup final, but there has also been disappointment with defeats to Aston Villa and then against Arsenal last weekend.

Newcastle United are still looking good for Europe and this is where they would be in the Premier League final compared with rivals if only matches after that cup final were taken into account.
