Newcastle United are planning for a big summer with changes expected on and off the pitch.
Away from Eddie Howe's first-team squad, the Magpies have a decision to make in regards to the sporting director position after Dan Ashworth was placed on gardening leave. Ashworth wants to join Manchester United but United are demanding a compensation package in the region of £20million.
Despite Ashworth's exit, United are pressing ahead with summer plans, and that is likely to see both incomings and outgoings. In reference to the latter, a number of players are out-of-contract, either this summer or next, and while the likes of Bruno Guimaraes continue to be the subject of transfer speculation.
Here, NewcastleWorld takes a look at the Newcastle United players that could leave at the end of the 2024-25 season, and those that won't:
1. Loris Karius - could
The former Liverpool goalkeeper has made just two appearances during his two seasons on Tyneside and is out-of-contract this summer. His family is based in Italy so may look to find a club there.
2. Mark Gillespie - could
Gillespie is fourth choice goalkeeper at Newcastle and is out-of-contract this summer. Hasn’t played a competitive game for almost four years.
3. Paul Dummett - could
Dummett has made 209 appearances for his boyhood club but only four of those have come this season. A valued member of the dressing room but his game time speaks for itself.
4. Lewis Hall - could
Hall will join Newcastle on a permanent basis for an initial £28m in the summer but his 11 appearances this campaign have suggested he may benefit from a loan spell elsewhere. His last appearance was in November.
