It’s no secret that the Magpies will be busy over the next few months as they look to recruit players capable of taking the club to the next level.
United spent around £90million during the January transfer window on Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn.
Matt Targett also arrived on loan from Aston Villa - and he is one player Eddie Howe is deciding whether or not to sign permanently.
NewcastleWorld, bearing in mind the latest rumours, takes at the players that could join Newcastle this summer - and those that probably won’t.
1. Hugo Ekitike - could joins
Everything is pretty much agreed with Reims for the transfer of Ekitike. The 19-year-old’s move to Tyneside is now subject to Newcastle reaching a positive outcome with the forward’s representatives, with agents fees playing a big part in negotiations Photo: FRANCOIS NASCIMBENI
2. Dean Henderson - could join
Sources in the North West claim Newcastle are close to signing Henderson as competition for Martin Dubravka, however Howe will prioritise other positions before switching his focus to a goalkeeper. That means any potential deal is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
3. Sven Botman - could join
It’s a straight shootout between AC Milan and Newcastle for the Lille defender, who is reportedly favouring a move to Italy. If Milan can’t seal the deal however, then you can bet the Magpies will, with the 22-year-old on the club’s radar since January. Photo: JEAN-CHRISTOPHE VERHAEGEN
4. Ismaila Sarr - could join
Newcastle do hold an interest in Sarr, despite injuries restricting him to just 22 Premier League appearances last season. With Watford relegated to the Championship, a move elsewhere is increasingly likely.
