Increased transfer speculation has become the norm for Magpies fans following the Saudi Arabian-led takeover in October last year.
The Public Investment Fund’s deep pockets are well documented and as a result, linked United to what feels like every player on the planet.
While head coach Eddie Howe has warned that spending might not be lavish as some are expecting, Newcastle will be busy in their recruitment.
Several outlets have made predictions over who Howe could sign this summer - and the bookmakers are no different.
Here, we take a look at the deal the bookies are tipping Newcastle to consider - which perhaps unsurprisingly includes some ambitious names.
1. Robert Lewandowski - 33/1
The 33-year-old striker has confirmed his intention to leave Bayern Munich this summer - with Barcelona his preferred destination. A move to Newcastle? Well, we highly doubt that. Clearly, the club’s wealth is being used to link United to some outrageous deals.
2. Eddie Nketiah - 20/1
Newcastle considered signing Nketiah in January when his future at Arsenal was up in the air. Fast forward to now however, and the former Leeds United loanee is expected to extend his stay at the Emirates by signing a new contract.
3. Romelu Lukaku - 20/1
It’s clear what Lukaku wants this summer - and that’s a move back to Inter Milan, less than 12 months after he returned to Chelsea for an astonishing £97m. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Serie A club can’t afford to bring him back permanently.
4. Marcus Rashford - 16/1
An unsuccessful 18 months or so for Rashford has led to inevitable speculation about his Manchester United future. The pressure is on for the 24-year-old to impress new boss Erik ten Hag in pre-season.
