Lucas Moura has penned an emotional farewell message to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of departing on a free transfer this summer.

The Brazilian is leaving North London, five-and-a-half years after joining from Paris Saint-Germain for £25million. In total, he’s made 220 appearances and scored 38 goals, including a hat-trick to send Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019.

Moura, however, has struggled for game time this season - featuring just 18 times - and as a result will leave when his contract expires next month.

“I can’t believe it’s time to say goodbye,” Moura posted on Instagram. “I don’t have the words to explain how grateful I am for having had the opportunity to defend this badge.

“Thank you very much Spurs family, God bless you all. I will always love you. 😢🤍 #COYS #ThanksJESUS”

It’s been reported by the Chronicle that the 30-year-old has been offered to Newcastle. Moura played alongside Kieran Trippier when Spurs reached the Champions League and is the same nationality as Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes.

Moura’s agent Junior Pedroso said last month he is exploring options across Europe and Brazil. He said: “There is no movement in that direction. We are studying proposals in Europe to choose the best path for Lucas.”
