‘A possibility’ - Fabrizio Romano shares update on £75m star linked with Newcastle United

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly enquired about Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.

Newcastle United had been linked with a possible loan move for the Frenchman at the back end of 2024. Callum Wilson’s injury woes have left the Magpies reliant on Alexander Isak - a player who has also battled fitness niggles.

As it stands, the Swede has risen to the challenge of leading Newcastle’s frontline on his own. A staggering nine goals in his last seven games has seen many crown Isak as the Premier League’s best striker.

But the Magpies are just one injury away from having a disjointed frontline - much like how they did earlier in the campaign. FFP/PSR restrictions mean a permanent transfer is tough, with PSG looking to recoup as much of the £75million fee paid 18 months ago as possible.

Muani has netted just 11 times in 54 games across all competitions and is now out of favour in Paris. NewcastleWorld understands a loan move to St James’ Park is unlikely despite reported interest in November.

However, rival Premier League clubs may tempt the 26-year-old with an escape route from PSG. Tottenham and West Ham United are reportedly expressing interest as they aim to kick-start their stuttering season.

Both London outfits sit in mid-table, with Ange Postecoglou and Julen Lopetegui under pressure going into the second half of the campaign. Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs have contacted PSG, although they face stiff competition from Serie A giants Juventus.

"It’s a possibility but there are several clubs,” he wrote on social media. “Tottenham have asked for information, but also Juventus in Italy for example. It’s an open race, as PSG keep waiting for the best conditions possible."
