Agent of £21m winger confirms two-and-half-year contract with Newcastle United
There have been major question marks over Almiron’s future since the beginning of the year. A Saudi Pro League club came forward in January but the player himself opted against making the switch mid-season.
In the summer, the Magpies held talks with MLS side Charlotte FC but the two clubs were unable to agree a fee.

Almiron has gradually fallen down the pecking order at St James’ Park having started just two Premier League matches since the end of March. Latest reports say Argentinian giants River Plate - the team Almiron supports - are showing interest.
However, Campos doesn’t expect the 30-year-old to leave any time in the near future - unless a sizeable offers arrives. Furthermore, it’s claimed Almiron is under contract until 2027, one year more than previously believed.
“So, it looks like he has another two and a half years left on his contract with Newcastle United and that, unless some other club makes a significant offer, with commensurate wages, he will stay on Tyneside for a while yet,” Campos told Soy del Millo.
Campos spoke to Paraguayan news outlet over the weekend and insisted Almiron will fight for place on Tyneside.

“Although Miguel isn’t happy with the minutes he has in England, he wants to stay and fight at Newcastle,” said Campos.
“The coach (Howe) always supported him. When he asked for something, he asked him to not leave. It must be a tactical or momentary issue. They (Charlotte FC) offered around $18million.

“Miguel is not desperate for money or to do crazy things. If there is an offer from any team, we will go through the competent channels.”
