Hosted by NewcastleWorld editor Liam Kennedy, the 260 Dinner is the brainchild of lifelong Toon fans Steve Wraith and Danny Mitchell.

The event will take place at The Barracks on Thursday April 7, with a percentage of funds raised going to local charities.

Danny Mitchell, founder of change Fundraising Ltd, said: “I have organised many events over the years, but this one is going to be very special indeed.

“Not only because of the guest of honour being Alan Shearer but because I get to design the look and feel of the event for our guests who will be lucky enough to be there.

“The attention to detail which will be seen by the theming and specially developed brand for this one-off event makes this one the best one yet.

“I always try to create an event that I would personally buy tickets for and with this one there is no doubt.

“This is no ordinary Sporting Dinner, if Carlsberg done Sporting Dinners... to be fair, they couldn’t touch it.

For one night only... do not miss out.”

Steve Wraith said: “Alan Shearer is a football icon.

“He was a great ambassador for our club, his country and the region. He has given fans so much to cheer about and now it's time for the fans to give him a night to remember.”
