Alan Shearer has provided his short verdict on Newcastle United's 4-4 draw at home to Luton Town in the Premier League.

The Magpies twice in the first-half through Sean Longstaff but were pegged back both times as Gabriel Osho and Ross Barkley equalised.

Eddie Howe's side were then left stunned when the visitors raced into a 4-2 lead as Carlton Morris scored from the penalty spot before Elijah Adebayo slotted home.

Howe introduced Tino Livramento and Harvey Barnes from the bench and that helped spark United into life. And with that, it became 4-4 when Kieran Trippier volleyed home Bruno Guimaraes' clever cross before Barnes scored on his first appearance since September.

Both sides had chances to win. And reflecting on the game. Magpies legend Alan Shearer told his X followers: "What a game that was".

Newcastle sit ninth in the Premier League having won one of their last six league games.
