And the United legend turned pundit Alan Shearer has had his say on just how monumental the win is for the Toon.

Posting to social media, the Geordie wrote: 'Big win for the Toon,' alongside a black and white heart.

The ex-footballer tweeted throughout the match which saw the Magpies climb to sixth in the league.

Shearer was full of praise for Isak, Joelinton and 17-year-old Lewis Miley who assisted the Swede's opener.
