Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, Fabian Schar: Newcastle United injury list & return dates ahead of Man Utd

Newcastle United injury list and return dates ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash away to Manchester United.

Newcastle United enter the final week of their 2024-25 season as the race for European qualification goes down to the wire.

Eddie Howe’s side dropped points at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon. And while they remain sixth in the Premier League table on goal difference, the draw allowed Chelsea to move level on points after their 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United could also join Newcastle and Chelsea on 57 points if they beat title challengers Arsenal this afternoon. The Magpies make the visit to Old Trafford on Wednesday before heading to Brentford on the final day.

Ahead of the two away games, United will make checks on both Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.

Isak started the 1-1 draw against Brighton but was replaced in the 68th minute after Howe revealed the Swede wasn’t at 100% due to illness. Wilson, meanwhile, was left out of the squad all together.

“Alex wasn’t feeling very well yesterday and so I took the decision just to look after him with the three game week in mind,” Howe explained. “I think you could see Alex wasn’t at full tilt today so that was the reason for that.

“With Callum, it’s also a little bit of illness and just feeling not great in his body but hopefully we’ll have him back.”
